drilled out pma cover?

looking to be maybe doing some slotted holes on my pma cover sometime soon i've seen it done but just wondering from the experts out there, how sensitive are the pma kits to the dust and shit that could make it through the newly drilled cover
 
Don't know about how sensitive they are to dust but i did notice they generate quite a bit of heat. I have a clear cover on mine and it fogs up quite a bit from condensation. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to vent it maybe.
 
Another method to allow air flow is to put spacers between the cover and the engine. Doesn't require any drilling either, just longer bolts and you can use washers or whatever.
