New XSCharge ignition and PMA. Battery Delete. First time running bike.
Can someone point me to thread or info to tune Makuni Carb on 2 in to 1 intake please.

Bike starts easily with choke fully on, dies off of choke and will not come off idle. Gas sprays out intake.

Should be pretty close if you start with known specs for a standard set up.

180 main
6f9 needle
20 pilot
2.5 slide
159 p6 needle jet

Seemed to be a decent starting point for me.

*im no carb expert, this is just info I’ve come to gather - not the gospel.

- it also may help someone point you in the right direction if you post your current specs.

WA has posted a good baseline, but most of us find that we need richer PJs with #2.5 slides, usually 22.5 or 25. But if the motor says otherwise, you do otherwise. Fuel demand doesn't change when 1 carb is used instead of 2: unless you've "twingled" the crank and cam, you're firing only 1 cylinder at a time. A few searches will take you to plenty of single carb threads. Some will acquaint you with the downsides of that modification.

Go to www.amckayltd.com/vm34-36.pdf and read it. If you want help, post a jet list. That means all of the brass: slide, PJ, NJ, jet needle, and MJ. Strip the carburetor and clean it, even if it's new. Check the fuel level as well.
