Exhaust backfiring just off idle????

Bs34's, pod filters (mikes xs pods), U.S. needles, 45 pilot jet.

It idles fine, but just above idle it begins to backfire out of the exhaust, and then runs fine after that. Is this a lean problem?

Usually, yes. Are your mix screws set rich enough? Most BS34s like between 3 and 3.5 turns out.
