Hello again everyone,
Well this is my 2nd post since I started bringing my '82 650 special back online. It was running when I let it sit for 5yrs( huge mistake). Before then it had a few problems. Mostly charging but after spending hour after hour reading as many of every post I could get my hands on I started to see things coming together step by step. I began my maint by cleaning and sealing my tank. Then went thru the carbs cause they were dumping my fuel on the ground( float valves) then plugs and valve adj made sure there were no leaks around the carb flanges. It fired but still didn't want to hold a charge. A new rectifier and things got better so I went with LED bulbs( headlight tail and turns). It worked like magic. I also turned my idle up and now it holds steady at12.75vat idle. Tomorrow it becomes my main source of trans thanks to everyone at the forum. Keep the post coming guys cause ill be READING!!
