Fork braces that work with a 74?

Im looking at the one from fastfromthepast.com and they state that its for a 76. Will it fit a 74?

I have a 74 so it uses the 34mm forks but i think the 76 uses a 35mm fork.

Any of you using this brace or another one for you 34mm forks?

Yes 74-76 should interchange I'll check the shed. I am thinking it should fit 72-76

72-75 tube tops are the same it appears the 72-73 triples are about 10mm wider than the spacing on the 75 I have. 74 got restyled forks like the 75-76 could there have been a spacing change? a review of parts diagrams from one of the on line Yamaha sellers should confirm that the 74 triples have the same part number as 75-76 or not.

You know I called this dude from fast from the past to explain the differences between the two fork braces. He asked me to take measurements and get back to him....I got distracted and never did it.

But you'll want to email the dude and figure out which part number you need.

I emailed Tkat yesterday for one of his slick billet fork braces. They're slightly less expensive and look better IMO, and he makes them for the 34mm forks.

It's been awhile since I bought Tkats but I think the difference has to do with the fender. The heights are different?

I wont be using the stock fender on my project so that wont matter.

I also emailed fastfromthepast and hope they get back to me soon.

Tkat also just has "standard" and "special" fork braces which led me to believe that the fork brace fast from the past is selling for the 76 model would fit the 74.

"I've got F/Bs for 'em all. The critical dims are 3 & 5. http://tkat.com/forkbrace/diagram.htm most are 55mm but a few are 54 or 50 mm. The Spc take a small island for fender clearance. Measure yers & le'me kno."

Just got an email back from Jim hinshaw from fastfromthepast and he said that the fork brace made for the 76 won't fit the 74. I'll probably just go with tkat

Talked to tkat, and he only accepts checks. no paypal or cc
