Howdy..

I’m working on a Cafe build on a 1980 XS currently..

Wondering if anyone can help on a fork angle/wheelbase question..

I removed the stock fork/triple, and moved to a Cognito Moto upper triple, and stock 2016 R6 Fork and lower triple.. Anyone know the difference between the stock XS offset and the new fork offset?? As well as how that will affect wheelbase, etc?? Will be going w/ a 17” wheel setup as well..

Thanks..

As far as I know, the original XS steering had no fork offset/rake change. What I mean by that is that the steering stem tube and fork tubes were parallel to each other... all rake was controlled by the frame steering head. As long as your new steering yoke and triple are parallel as well, rake won't be affected. Wheel size and fork tube length will affect rake however....
