Fork re-install

I just installed Hugh's lowering kit on the front forks and and super pumped about how easy it was. My question is, I took off the headlight ears and there were two rubber bushing type things and two large washers on each of the ears. Do I have to reinstall those or can I just install the forks without them?

I hate those things, such a pita. I've tried installing without, but it's really loose. I made an order to Mike's this morning, and threw in a pair of these: http://www.mikesxs.net/product/09-0020.html
I should get them tomorrow, I'll post up if their any good or not.

If you aren't using the stock headlight ears, you don't need them.

How much did you lower it ? Where are the pics ?

I lowered the forks two inches. I'll post up some pics when I reinstall them

I wish I had the tools or time to shave and polish them but maybe somewhere down the line. I just want to ride the bike

I have these and they do the job. Personally, however, I am not much into the look of side mounted headlights and I will be changing mine to a bottom mounting light soon.
