front wheel bearings

I'm about ready to reassemble the front end on my XS2. All of the wheel bearings involved are free and feel smooth. My general thinking is to leave them alone, but on the other hand, it would be easy to replace them right now. So, I'm asking: is there any reason to just routinely replace them, just because of their age?

If they are clean, no grit in the grease and don't have play
clean them up and repack them.
I do believe you can get aftermarket for around $50 if it's really a worry.
