Are there supposed to be gaskets of some type here? I see Mikes has the base gasket and head gasket, but I see nothing that goes between the top and bottom half of the head. Do I just use a sealer?

Nope, just use some yamabond, hondabond or something of the like. I used permatex ultra grey bcus it was available at my local auto store.

Cool. I was thinking that too, because I think the head cover and cylinder head are machined together, so mixing and swapping head covers and heads wont line up. thanks for the help!

You are correct, on both count's. So, make sure if you get a spare head that you get the cover, too. I use the gray Permatex also, no leaks yet. Only 4 years of use, though.:wtf:

Ya what the others have just said, the gray permatex is good stuff to use!! I just rebuilt mine and used it and its solid!! Or you can also use, yamabond, hondabond, suzukibond, kawibond, or even fordbond, chevybond, and dodgebond!! You get the idea!!!
