Gaskets not the right size?

I bought the Athena Gasket set from Mikes (supposed to work on bikes 72-84) and although everything fits so far, I just noticed that the gaskets that the exhaust pipes need don't fit. The bolts from the engine are about 6mm too far apart compared to the engine bolts, and the holes are about 3mm too small.

Has anyone else ran into this? I'm afraid I'll tear the gasket forcing it on.

i'm pretty sure that the exhaust pipes don't use gaskets that have anything to do with bolt holes. usually the exhaust gasket is round and fits in between the header and the head. (kind of inside the head)

You are probably referencing the intake gasket. As deadchef said, the exhaust gasket is a circular piece of metal.
