OK, so I have some '75 handlebar controls that I was hoping to use on a '78 frame/wiring harness.
Turns out that the '75 switchgear may not be salvageable. I've been watching ebay and surfing around MikesXS. I noticed that Mikes has controls listed on two different pages; here: http://www.mikesxs.net/products-60.html#products and here: http://www.mikesxs.net/products-51.html#products .

On the 2nd page, part # 24-9054 looks like what I'd need to run the dual throttle cables and keep the "look" of the '75. I'd have to cut off the terminal coupler block in order to run it through the bars, but I can re-attach it.
Question: I wonder if it would plug right into the '78 harness once I re-attach the terminal block?

OR, I could run part # 24-2059 (shown on both pages) and it should plug right into the '78 harness. However, I'd still have to cut of the terminal block in order to run it through the bars. I'd also have to run a single throttle cable and use the later carbs (I have both sets of carbs to choose from).

I guess I could run part # 24-2058 (shown on both pages) for the clutch side. Again, I'd have to re-attach the terminals in order to run it through the bars.

The intent here is to keep as much '75 XS650B stuff, or the "look", as possible, hence the need to run the cables through the bars.
What do you think would be the best option.
And while we're at it, what's the reputation on these controls? I know some of Mikes stuff hasn't been the best quality lately.

- as far as the electrics go -2059 and -9054 both have the same functional groups, kill, start, lights...when resplicing the connecting block in just make sure the correct wires are in place...your 78 harness may originally have been built for the north american market where the light switch didnt appear on the right like in europe...its no problem however to run this switch
