I'm thinking about getting the Ardcore DIY hard tail kit (2" drop). Also thought about putting an 18" rear and keeping the 19" front. This will be my first build and I was wondering if anyone had done this this wheel combination before? My question is will the bike sit high in the back? Thanks, any help is appreciated.

It depends more so on the tires you decide to run than the wheel. You can get 16" and 18" tires with the same diameter. Really though, unless you drop the forks you are going to run high in the front.

Here are a couple that I built with 18" rear wheel

Thanks for the pics. Nice looking bikes. After some research I have this build in my head and have not yet started purchasing parts. I,m thinking about a 4" stretch, 2" drop, 18" rear with a firestone/ coker 18x4.5 and a 19" front with a firestone/coker 19x4. Anyone done this combo? Just curious about the fork drop too. Anyone know approx. how much the fork drop would be running this comb. Thanks again for your help.

just want to let you know for the ardcore hardtail the 2 inch drop doesn't mean
the frame is 2 inch lower.. but the seat..... 2 inch drop seat!

hope it help!
