Hey guys, I have a couple questions about some tanks for a bobber-build. Can anyone tell me what kind of tank the red bike has or what the black bike has one it? I have looked everywhere and cant figure out what tanks either of these bikes have on them.I like the deep-tunnel where the bottom of the tank sits parallel with the top of the engine. If no one knows for sure, I have also seen some 650's with a modified sportster tank that sits in this same way that I would use as a back-up option. How much work would be involved in doing this? I can do alot myself but wouldn't be able to do this, so what would be an estimate on having a shop do tunnel work like that? Thanks guys

The Red XS is my first choice on the tank, the black one would be my 2nd choice, and the 2nd red one with the sportster tank as a back-up option.

you seem to have it correct, those look like modified sporty peanut tanks. the first pic looks like a honda rebel tank.

On my build I am using a Rebel 250 tank and it sits with the bottom of the tank parallel to the top of the heads. The only thing I had to do was move the petcock back a little bit (approx. 2"). Cut the old petcock out (but not the backing plate) with a hole saw (3/4") and silver solder in a steel slug then drilled a new hole for a bung that would accept an early harley petcock (3/8 NPT) and silver soldered that in place. Leak/pressure tested perfectly. Smmoth it out and do the body work so nobody will be able to tell.
