Harley shocks?

Does anyone know if shocks from a 2001 1200 sporty would fit a 81 xs 650 special? They are 11.5 inches center to center of eye, and that is the size I would like to use on my bike to drop the rear a little.

Yes they work. You need to thin the width of the bottom eye (with a grinder or something) a little. And the top bushings will need to be modified with a sleeve or something. Pretty easy to do, and what I said will make sense once you start fitting it up.

Yep they need to be modified but they work. I have a set of new ones for sale if u need some. I used em for mock up on a bike a while back and never ran them. Chrome. 11 eye to eye I think. Cheap!

Thanks guys. I think I can handle the mods ok. I found a used pair and just wanted to make sure they would work before I bought them.
