fitted 45mm exhaust headers? I've fitted a pair and put in some tuning core inserts that are advertised and sold by Heiden.

The bike has got Mikuni round slide carbs, free flowing exhaust and fast road gas flowed head, it's on the dyno at the minute and the result so far

The exhaust inserts are coming out because I think they must be acting as a restriction, any one else ever used them and experienced the same?

yes,yes yes,,,,i have a nice home made set of st/st 45mm light gauge tigged headers and exhaust along with alloy tracker mufflers ....it usually runs like a dream,,, i,m running cv38 carbs kitted with mikesxs kit and i went up slight on the jets as well.. its never been a drama ..although at 4000rpm it does bark... so in my small country town it never gets bove 2500 approx... i save it for the road... regards oldbiker

The tuning cores were removed today and it's gone from 38bhp to 48bhp on the dyno. I think 'Tuning Core' is clearly the wrong name!

I think they are designed for torque rather than out right performance
