It lives! I fired up my bike after successfully wiring up the perm mag alternator, so happy! Now I'm on to the rest of the wiring - simplified wiring minus all the stuff that used to live around the battery box:

I understand that the blue-yellow wire from the key switch powers the headlight dimmer switch and the yellow and green wires out of that switch go to the headlight. I've identified the blinker wires, horn and ground and what's left are a blue-green and yellow-black from that cluster, where do they go?

Where does the front bake switch get wired in?

What do I run to the rear brake switch and then on to the tail light?

I have a tail light with two wires, black and red.

Ha, anyone care to advise? Thanks!

you'll need to run a third wire to the base of your tail light

a blue-green and yellow-black from that cluster, where do they go?

light checker/resister look in my (jayels album for 79 wiring diagram) then trace out your wiring

Wow, nice! Thanks so much for that jayel! I've got a few different 79 wiring diagrams and when the wires terminate in the light checker and reserve lighting module I get a bit confused, they are hard to trace when I'm doing something greatly simplifed.
