Hi all, this is my first post. Been working on my partner’s XS chop over lockdown. Had the project for several years, but being at home let me crack on...
Hopefully there’s some pictures as well...

So far the frame has been hard tailed, springer forks fitted (after cutting the headstock to suit), Electronic ignition etc. from Heiden Tuning. Fitted saddle type seat (actually a designer drum stool seat). Wassell tank with twin taps. Custom rear mudguard. Harley front wheel. Custom rear wheel using original drum hub with new ally rim and stainless spokes from Devon Rim Company. Custom wiring loom by me. (First one I’ve ever done!) Battery tray is removable without removing rear wheel. Battery held in by leather belt which will be custom tooled.

Phew.........

Dry build done a couple of weeks ago. Now stripped for paint and polishing.

I’ll post more pics as I go............

Cheers,
Paul.

Welcome aboard. I like the different hard tail set up and the fat tire front end. Keep the pics coming.......

Hi!

Paint is all Matt black. Then maybe some simple pinstriping. Maybe some silver leaf... Still dithering on the accents, but overall we want the bike to look the same in a black and white image as a colour one...

Looking forward to seeing how that turns out. Sounds interesting.

Looking very well done Paul. Ask lots of questions - the knowledge is on this forum!

...and welcome, from Canada's sunny southern coast in Windsor, Ontario!

Pete

Interesting take on a hardtail..........Looks good............With the pegs remaining in the factory position, will you legs get a bit cramped up?

Like the tank position low on the bar.

Hi. Sorry, I didn’t realise there was a question here lol... seating position is fine for me at 6 feet tall. However, bike is for my shortarse partner, so will be fine!!

Hi again. Quick update. Finished painting the frame and all the bits.

Got the engine in and bolted up. Then on with the front end.
I had kept the whole front together and most of the wiring attached with the cables, so was easy to put together again.

Next is to flat the tank and mudguard ready to put on get the battery back in and finish tidying the wiring under the seat.

Cheers,
Paul.
