Finished up replacing the clutch cable and took the bike for a test drive. Ran great! I got back to my house, pulled into the driveway. As soon as I hit the driveway entrance (small bump) the bike went dead. Kill switch/turn signal indicator/neutral light went dark. No headlight and the bike won't start. Feel like something just came loose. Checked everything I could as far as loose wires go. I knew I was going to have to rewire the bike but didn't want to do it until winter.

Any idea where or how to trouble shoot the electrical system. Is there a major component that I should be looking at from the beginning?

It happened to me. Only I was 10 miles from home. Turned out the main power line broke at a solder joint. The bike died instantly. Just start tracing wires. Use a meter if you have one.

If you still have the original fuse block, it sounds like a fuse clip failed - a common problem on these bikes, not too hard to fix.
