Any tips on how to remove these? The top screw on my ignition plate is seized, I've used screwdriver big and small and all its doing is rounding it out. I've tried tapping it. Now I've resorted to an extractor bit...and even that isn't working.

I basically cut a new groove for a flathead screw driver. I guess I'll anti-seize the screws.

I made a screwdriver that just kicks ass for these old crappy phillips screws.

Basically, just cut the tip off an old phillips screwdriver to make the tip nearly flat; it'll let it make more contact with the remaining grooves assuming they're not 150% rounded, and drop further into the grooves than if the screwdriver had the tapered tip.

When I'm dealing with screws I am afraid may be super tight, I'll use a hand drill with the phillips bit. I can really hold that steady in the head of the screw, and the torque usually pops em out with no sweat.

hi you could try a set of vice grips... they are only 4mm thread ,,i ended up putting 2 socket head cap screws in that i had,,, but i,d like mushroom crews,,, regards oldbiker
