Is a XS1 and a XS2 seat interchanable

According to all the part's fiche's,,they are the same part number.

1970 XS1 SEAT
1971 XS1B SEAT
1972 XS2 SEAT
1973 TX650 SEAT


But if you look at the bottom of the seat's, the XS2 seat pan has more room in the battery area. There is also a tunnel,,for lack of a better word,,,in it coming from the battery area. I'm getting ready to list a couple of XS2 seat's and want to make sure what all will work with what.

I would say the XS2 with more room would surly work on the XS1. But will a XS1 seat work with out issue on a XS2. Thanks

The XS1, 1B, had a smaller battery, don't know if that makes a difference.......
