is my frame fubar?

The gashes are easy to weld up and carefully file down. What worries me is the excessive grinding marks. Go easy with that thing! It ain't a snowplow.

IF you have access to a welder, biuld up the material, and if you get porosity, grind it back out.
When you grind the metal down again, use a flap disc, they dont take as much metal off so fast.
What did you use? Arc-blow!!??

That looks awfully scary to me!! I would be worried about how thin the metal is where the excessive grinding took place!! I wouldnt feel comfortable running that frame!! But hey, thats just my opinion!!

just a thought... you can cut that section out, and find tubing to fit up in there, like a slug, and weld that in. you gotta fix that, bro.

What section of the frame is that? do you have the frame vertical, and that part is the lower rail?

what about doing the repair with welding and then taking some tubing with and ID the same as the frames OD and cutting it in half to make skid plates to weld on?
