Is this the wrong rim?

I regrettably picked up some rims from eBay and when they arrived looked to match up to the old ones. But after starting to build the wheel I noticed that the taper on the spoke nipples isn't sitting flush with the rim. I'm pretty sure this means I have the wrong rim but I'm looking for a second opinion. Thanks. The wheel is a rear 36 spoke 18 inch.
