    Bikes with fairings:

    Non-XS body

Non-XS (re-purposed, not off the shelf) wheel setups

Before/After image sets for transformations like downeaster suggests.

    Best roadside pic (non-staged looking)

    Best Photoshop XS pic

Rat or First Build would be my choice. I fit into both... :wink2:

What about the best wreck story with pic of the aftermath? That'll generate good discussion on safety and the importance of good riding gear.

  4. I like that idea , I seem to wreck lots of bikes , might be my only chance to win an XSOTM .Other than that , I think a month for baggers would be a good idea , never see very many and I am thinking about putting a fairing on my bike so I need some pics to look at.

  5. ronstern

I'm partial to the 70-77s restore.

  6. I like the restores too , but I wouldn't mind seeing something different for a change . I am sure we will have 70-77 restore XSOTM sometime in the next 12 months.

OK I added a poll, vote for XSOTM themes
It's only up for a couple of days. I will use results to help with future contest themes.

I just logged my vote for the Standards 74-79 Resto mods.

A 'future contest' suggestion would be On Road/Off Road Dual Purpose Conversions.

  12. There are enough scrambler / off road capable XSs out there to make that interesting .

I think you might need to offer everyone multiple options like 1st 2nd and 3rd choices or we'll not end up with any meaningful numbers for interpretation:wink2:

Yeah I thought of that too late. Can't change a pole once it's started.
Ya'll can do write in votes for on/off road bikes....

  16. OK, consider me wrote in for on/off scrambler types . But I still want to see baggers sometime this year too .

No votes for Wreck story with pictures so I'll share..

I was on my way to Flint with my GF (now wife) along M21 in Michigan and a farmer lost a load of hay in front of us going about 60 mph. Nothing I could do but stay the course and hold on. Next thing I knew it I was on my side, the bike on my leg in a pile of loose hay. We were bit shaken up, got some road rash, but the bike fared pretty good. Dent in the tank, broken side cover, hi-way bar bent, windshield popped off and a scraped muffler.
I told the farmer I was glad he wasn't hauling scrap metal. If you’re going to run into anything, bales of hay would be it.
After all the reports were filed and we got check out by the EMT, we continued on our 60+ mile journey.
Now, I get real nervous riding behind trailers or pickups hauling a bunch of crap.

My Wife snapped this after the crash, the farmer is talking to the trooper in the background.

  19. Unfocused

I've voted for the first timers.

  20. 12 months worth of categories , gggGary can start with the one that gets the most votes. Some of those categories could be combined , for example, like strangest bike and rat bike or legit shop and show winners , just to give more people a shot .
