Need more advice. I have some bs38s with what i believe is stock jetting.
Main: 127.5
Pilot: 45
Needle 4n8 middle clip

I am at 4500 feet above sea level.

So here is the question. I know its too rich right now but i am going to be running pod filters and a open exhaust (shorty muffler). Do you still think I should go down in jetting?

CV carbs somewhat compensate for altitude, more so than a normal slide carb. I'd try what you have and maybe you'll even need to go a bit bigger. By the way, your needles are already set one step leaner than stock. They came from the factory with the clip in the #4 slot.
