Just bought 79 xs650, no vin?

I looked all over it. Maybe painted over on the triple tree. There is an aluminum sticker there, but unreadable.
Bike has great compression.

Numbers are stamped on the neck, parallel to the metallic sticker, also stamped on the front of the engine, lower right on a flat behind the motor mount.....thereabouts. 'Course if the engine has been swapped......
