Just finished first top end rebuild

Hey guys so I just finished my first top end rebuild....now I'm sitting here diligently trying to think of what I might have done wrong ha. What do you guys normally do before your first time firing up a newly rebuilt engine? I'm assuming cam chain adjustment, valves, ignition, and oil....anything else?

Double-check all the bolts and screws, turn the engine over by hand several times to make sure nothing is interfering and that you have compression where you expect it.

First time I started mine, the gas tank was off and the carbs were empty. I squirted some carb cleaner down the carb boot ports and kicked it over to see if it was actually going to work or not. *shrug*

If you still have points and installed a new cam chain, you'll need to set the timing. Putting the points plate back in the old position won't give the same timing with a new chain.
