There is an extensive thread on the CVK's. Most consider them an improvement over stock.
Are you sure you don't have a PMA already?

I've seen the bike in person it's a weird setup, one I have not seen before. No points, no pma, whoever did it seems to have ran a point-less ignition with out a battery no clue how it works, didn't have time to look to closely when I saw it. Chatted a bit with him and he rode off on it seemed to run okay...

I spent about an hour looking at google images and e-bay trying to match the flywheel design but didn't find any. Guess we will never know. . . .till we do.
