Kickstart Lever Resting spot

While washing my bike this evening, I noticed something that I never have noticed before...
On the right hand carb there is a protruding boss that sticks out for no other particular reason other than possibly a resting spot for the kickstart lever?..
I have owned this bike a long time and never put the thought together...

That tab is where the idle screw would be installed if the carb was used in a two cable installation.

I am an idiot for not clueing in on that gggGary...
I should have my XS650.com membership revoked ...but the kick lever tucks right in there nicely...
