And, oh yeah, this is how it started out...

beautiful, SD_Dave! love to see the restored/refurbished stock type bikes, too. That is a thing of beauty. I'm sure the new owner must be very proud. :)

Cleaning this up for a friend. Just completed top end rebuild, due to Cam Chain Guide Stop plastic coming out of the mount.

Everyone keep up the great work and inspiration.

I greatly enjoy this. Any more info?

It's an 83 I picked up a little over a year ago in CT for $400
Oil change, new plugs, Hugh's PMA, Pamco ignition, Sparx capacitor, kick only.
Got the seat pan off a fellow member here.
Lowered the front forks about an inch in the trees, Honda Rebel rear shocks.
Tank is an older sporty tank I got off eBay for $40 and cleaned out the interior rust with water, washing soda and a battery charger.

Being a huge Volkswagen buff, the headlight is from my 84 rabbit convertible. Won't see that anywhere else. Mounted the high low switch on the back of the housing.
Handbuilt the license plate bracket.

Avon Speedmaster 19" front
Shinko single whitewall 16" rear

No tach.
Mini speedo temporarily mounted to the left front fork.

She's far from finished. I ride her daily so that's why the frame is still stock.
Possibly going to hardtail it over the winter.

This is my first build, first bike, basic tools and knowledge. I do a lot of research and internal debating with my own self before touching it.
It's not much yet but it has potential.

Everyone keep up the great work.

Here's my 2 cents.......plus all the rest of my money...... 1981 XS650. Got a lot of work to do, but soooo worth it. It is my daily rider.
