I may not be a very good salesman. When a new rider wants to buy a vintage bike I'm selling, I try to talk them out of it. I tell them they can get a much newer bike, that will take less wrenching, for the price I'm asking for mine. Sometimes they listen and sometimes they don't.
One guy who had only driven a moped before, I wouldn't let him ride it home. I insisted on delivering it to his house, and that he practice in a parking lot.
