The mirrors are threaded so they'll break loose when bumped on a forward moving bike. Normal threads on the left, reversed on the right.Note the little slash marks cut into the points on the hex nut. That indicates it's a reverse thread. Yamaha right mirrors are like that, I'm guessing so that the wind doesn't blow them loose.
