It was built in black and gold the first time. Then a tornado hit my shop and dropped the roof on it, so when I rebuilt it I went with the OD green for last riding season. Now it is back in its original form.

That is paint, put on a coat of flat black, then cover with drawer liner, spray light coat of metalic silver, then remove liner and clear coat. Thats it. I love the look and it gets a lot of attention. Even had and Engineer ask what material the tank and fender were made from. Best compliment it has had I think.

Nice job on the paint/CF effect, hard to pull off on a curved surface. I like the pin style on the oil tank too.

Tell us a bit about the hardtail G&L ?

The bike has a good look overall.

Thanks, the CF efect was a lot of fun to do and suprisingly easy. The gold leaf and pinstripes were done by my friend Wes. This was my first XS chopper, but I really sort of knew the way I wanted the Bike to look. I got the 82 I started with from my Brother in law and It was in pretty good shape for sitting up for about 10 years. Rich from G&L was a huge help. He is a fellow Vet and was really interested when I told him about the style and theme I was going with. The Hard Tail, seat, and oil tank are all G&L as well as the forward controls. I really like Rich's (G&L) controls because they give me a little more leg room (I'm 6'2" tall) but I can still stand up on the pegs if i need to. The bike has been a lot of fun to build, but it is a Blast to ride. I just put a Pamco ignition on it last week and finally got rid of the POS TCI box. Probably the best mod I have done so far. If any of you guys get down around Huntsville AL, drop me a line.
