Mike's XS tach drive cover problem

Anyone else tried one of these?
I got one and the threads just don't line up.
Don't want to force it on.
Any other clever options for covering the tach drive hole?

I believe that I'd use the stock, threaded 'nut' that holds the cable to the case, remove the cable and find something to fill the opening that's left....if that'd be possible.

Mine worked just fine. Maybe you've got a damaged thread on one or the other?

That's kind of the direction I was thinking.
Threads on the engine are fine so I think it's the cap that has been threaded poorly.

I used a plumbing brass 3/8 flare cap. threaded on easy by hand. Looks better than Mikes .$1.10 at Menards.
