It's a decision thats way, way down the road as I'm still in the tear down segment of my '80 XS650SG Street Tracker build but, I was just thinking about it.

I have both sets of carbs with the bike and the PWK's were installed when I bought it and, after a clean up and intake boot change, it ran pretty well. The Mikuni's appear to be in good shape other than needing a rebuild replacing old rubber and gaskets.

I was just wondering about your opinions....should I go with the original Mikuni's or the PWK's when assembly time comes around?

I would either run the stock carbs or the EX500 carbs. I haven't read much good about the PWK's from Mike's.
I have ran a couple sets of the BS38 carbs and they are not that hard to get right. I have ran a couple sets of thye BS34's. They are not hard to get right either.
I'm currently running a set of the EX500 carbs on my 750 kitted 75. These are a very good upgrade. Easy to get right.
Read up on these carbs in the EX500 Ninja carb thread. Lots of good info.
