missing breather pipes

Picked up a '78 special at a police auction which I'm turning into a tracker and noticed there are no pipes exiting the breather outlets on the cylinder head and Im wondering where these missing pipes were headed. From the parts manual I'm not getting much help, can anyone enlighten me? Can I leave them off? Thanks, Kevin

just run 3/8th clear hose to back by the swingarm to get rid of the oil mist, if you have the stock airboxes there should be tubes in the front where they join to the carbs that is where the original hoses ran to (EPA)

thanks, I'm not using the stock boxes. So just like my old Duc single, just keep it off the tires, Thanks
