I did a cursory search and didn't find much on this, but it seems like it could be important. I normally live at 4500 ft, but I'm visiting family 800 miles away at 2000 ft. More oxygen here means I'm running lean, right? So should I be worrying about adjusting my mixture as I go through elevation changes, and how much change warrants a mixture adjustment?

At 4500 feet you have less oxygen, and your bike makes about 12 % less power than at sea level. For every 1000 feet above sea level, you lose about 3 % power.

So, riding down to the 2000 foot level, you should gain better than 6 % power. Keep an extra grip on the bars:D.

I'd say there's no reason to adjust the carbs.
