Mine does 8k revs too but 10k in 5th gear 120+mph stock? you got the best 650 ever made

Like I said: I made this thread to find out what mods the p.o. could have made to the bike that has given me this 6mph bump over stock top speed.

6mph over would be within stock limits. has your exhaust been changed, are you running pods or have jetted the carbs? sprocket sizes. this could give you a 5-10 mph jump

I've been running 3" UNI filters with the needles on notch 4. Back when I did those first runs I was on the stock airboxes but the "fur" filters were disintegrated. Stock sprockets(for now)... hence the 8400Rpm for 123Mph. I just can't seem to decide what gearing I want....
I should get a new chain before next season so that kinda makes me want to go ahead and switch to a 520 with an 18/30 combo since I cruise with my brother at 95Mph for hours.... but my front 17T is in perfect shape and a 30T.... or 31T and a new chain would be less of a sacrifice of in town fun.
