Here it is... mostly just a place for me to post pics of the things I make along the way.

I got the bike 2 years ago as a frame. No swingarm, no bolts, no engine... nothing but a frame. It was originally intended to be for my wife, whom is 5'2, with very short legs...if she sees this she'll choke me for telling you, lol.

So I had to make some modifications so she could touch the ground... some might call it brat style  I guess. I used a sportster seat pan to get a certain look...which left us about here.

I wanted the shocks mounted in double shear, versus the single shear setup like stock for added safety.

Then she decided she wanted a hardtail for the look.. couldn't talk her out of it, so we got another bike for her... and this became mine and it continues to evolve.

Btw sorry for the low quality pics... I only have a camera phone... :D

Hard to tell cause of the quality of the pics... but... clipons versus z bars. Also rear ride height is going up as shown, getting 11" shocks to replace the 10.5". Front wheel is getting relaced to 21", so using the wifes mag to hold it up.

Well shit Joe, your moving and grooving things are looking good. I have to say I have always like the profile of that Honda tank. It sounds good you got a couple of them now thats always cool. I won't say nothing about your short legger we have one around here running on the same specs and she has the same chocking capabilities. But hers are long the go all the way to the ground!

Thanks Donny, as with all my builds, I have no idea what this bike will look like when its done, but i do know im not a fan of labels. I do know, that when its done, I expect it to take me cross country... small tank and all. :D

A couple pics in the sun, plus my wife who is 3 months pregnant! Forks are getting lowered*properly... but set at 2 inches down for now.

Which bars you guys like? We like both! But I think im gonna make another set thats sorta in between the 2 styles, and riserless.

Test fit of mikesxs stainless spokes to my free 21" rim was a success. Now I just have to choose between paint (cheap) and powder coat (not currently in the budget)... and colors.

As far as comfort, the Zs are probably a bit better, less leaning forward, and hands are at a more natural angle.

both look good. go for comfort. is it just a town cruiser? or will you take it out for a few hours?

Where I live, there is no in town riding, lol, but I like riding as far as my wallet will take me. My plan is to do a cross country ride...

I'm diggin' the bike shotgunjoe! :D I like the look of the z bars, but it all depends on how they feel to you man.

Thanks John, its hard to be unbiased when im the one making the parts. :D Ive got some weld on riser/bungs on the way... maybe I will like the next set better.

The z bars give it that mean lane splitter look and I'm assuming a little more upright riding position. The Clip-ons look low and sleek, does it make a big difference raising them above the trees vs below?

 Thats the look I was hoping for with the Zs, and they are little bit more upright, more tucked and 'fast' with the clipons. Definitely a noticeable difference, about 2.5-3 inches, they're pretty versatile, easy to change height and angle. I just really like making handlebars, its probably the easiest way to change to look of a bike.

Dig the bare metal look.

I didn't know places don't allow riding around in town. A noise thing?

lol, no no, too much traffic... it would take all the fun out of it, plus theres at least one accident a day on the main road here, if not more. Luckily, I live on the edge of town, and all the roads leading up to the mountain are very near by. :bike:
