Just got her home today, won her on ebay. Will do a "brat/bobber" build.

Going to put a harley sportster peanut 3 1/2 gal tank on her.
Need some help though, the wife wont let me do a single seater, she wants to keep an eye on me, so can anyone recommend a two up seat that looks good?

Afternoon NJ1639, its badly rusted inside but the next time you are in Sydney drop around. Anyway picked up a new tank, took the dampers off rear and was fiddling with ride heights,,,11 1/4 between mounting bolts looks good, any advice on what dampers to use would be appreciated. Had an epifnny while I was enjoying a cup of tea and admiring her,,,,my old SR400 stainless rear guard might fit,,,and it does.
Any comments???

Welcome and goog luck with it, you could try Modern Motor Cycle Company out of Melbourne for a seat, check their web site they get some stuff from Posh and other.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I missed your Oz accent in the original post! I was looking at the trees in the background of the picture but couldn't tell the genus to determine location...... I do like that tank though.

Here we are Saturday 11th already. Just finished mounting the tank, rivnuts are fantastic!
In her previous life she has been abused by the dreaded black spray tin, nevermind I will be making that up to her The homemade gasket is a bit rough too, but I'll give it a trim soon

Progress has not been good last few days, the swing arm was frozen. Rear suspension wouldnt move at all> Couldnt get the shaft to move so out comes the hacksaw, drills and big hammer, now all I need to do is to get the swing arm to the press at work

I'm not a stick in the mud when it comes to cutting and modifying xs's, but it's a shame to see a nice standard/roadster like that cut up,

Wow, had to cut it out. I have spent some quality time with a BFH getting one out, but haven't had to cut yet.

Jay, I'm sure the tank, seat, and side covers will be sold and put to good use on another bike.

Morning Jay760,,,dont worry I would not harm the old girl, all mods will be reversible, cutting the frame just leads to stuffing around with RTA so apart from the rivnut its safe.
I've decided to keep the standard seat. Not sure about the battery or side covers yet, may go battery less and kick her

Thursday 23rd, the assembly begins, wire brush frame, prime paint then 4 coats clear with metal flake and two straight clear over the top, looks good in bright sunlight.
I think I will stick to standard tank rather than the sporty.
How does chameleon purple pearl on the standard tank and side covers sound???

 to not using the sporty tank. That original tank already looks pretty cool as is. How's the paint on it?

paint is faded and tank has small dent so needs work and repaint.
I have some chameleon purple pearl sitting around and want to use it up, hence the colour scheme.

Painted the tank and side covers. Looks good if you dont get too close, I'll give it a week to dry thoroughly then some 1200 wet and dry to get the fuggly bits out
