well the rear wheel is 18" and the sprocket only has 4 bolt holes
on the right side of the wheel it has KOBE steel japan 1.85x18 R 76 i or 1 HTAG 8 the sproket has 38 teeth an I'm only going 48 mph at 4000 rpm so I want to replace it it would be a good thing if I know what the wheel came off of. when I have looked arround this evening and im getting "make, model, year" I'm sure I can get by with out knowing but maybe one of you might know how I can find out
thanks ,Ed

Get the stock rear wheel. You can find them on Ebay once in a while. 16 inch Mags all over, 18 inch spokes not so much.
Your wheel may have come of most anything. Honda used a 4 bolt sprocket, The xs400 used a 4 bolt sprocket.

ok thanks . both wheels match and I like the better selection of tires at the 18" size I'll just have to take the thing off and measure the thing

I looked at some of your videos, nice documentation of what you're doing. The wheel is probably from an RD400, xs400 or 500, '76 to '79, converted to fit rear axle. PO would know for sure. Here's a couple links to JT Sprockets.

As you can see, the stock sprockets don't go below 36t. I've done some research, I mentioned in a previous thread that I'm going to use an XJ550 rear wheel, but it has the drive from an '82 XS400. The sprocket that I found that may work, with a little drilling, to enlarge the bolt holes:

The only problem is, it may not be available, I haven't contacted JT Sprockets.

Here is a thread on an SR500 wheel but if you go down to my last post and click on the links they will take you to an RD400 wheel conversion and all you need to do is make up a spacer for an XS650 sprocket. Would be cheaper than getting a sprocket made up.

Ill try to find out if jt has them 2maro

In my eyes, this is the major stumbling block with wheel swaps on the 650 - a custom sprocket makes them too costly. As mentioned, get an actual 650 wheel and your problems will be over.
