oil pump index marks

hi guys Joe here i have a question. took my oild pump apart today and i noticed the 2 black index markes . on the drive cogs where faceing away from the way of from the way u view .i mean backwards u would think they would be facing out .anyone know if it makes a difference .thats the way it came apart i put it back together so timing marks are in view any idea wherter it matters thanks joe
