As is the case with probably most engines, the oil pump outer rotor on the one I'm rebuilding is broken (clutch cover came off an engine with a holed piston so who knows).
I'd imagine a great number of these are snapped like mine in the thinner sections and I tend to think the engines run fine with the small breaks, but regardless, I need to replace mine.
Not sure if good practice is to replace both inner and outer pieces at the same time or if it matters much. I'd rather buy an OEM piece than the questionable quality parts from 'you know who'.
Will check with Yamaha on availability but I'd presume they're long since discontinued.
