Hi all, made an intro go read it if you wish!

Finally made a tough decision and traded my halfdone -53 Pontiac chop for an XS chopper, Triumph frame, Triumph 750 engine and LOTS of stuff

Started by sorting through all stuff and riding the bike, it looked like this and was really not into my likings

First mod was an old z-bar off of an old moped that I found in a big pile of scrapmetal. It was crooked and had a nasty crack.

Shortened the grips, narrowed it and welded it nice and solid, then got started on a sissy instead of the ugly spiderweb brackets

Plans are to get rid of the ugly forwards somehow, fab a k&q seat, get the sissy done and plate it and then a new paint. Dont think it needs more or does it?

My brother and I had a used 1953 Pontiac, around about 1963/64. We were just teenagers, paid $200, and drove it to high school. Flat head 6 cylinder engine, not much power.

I guess we were "cool" but didn't know it at the time:D

Hehe you sure were ;) Mine got the straight 8 though, a little cooler!

To bad youre 800kms away :/

Since my black tank started leaking I had to use the red one to be able to ride and I think it starts to grow on me, what do you think?

Swedes and long choppers - something in the culture I guess:D

I love the lines on the bike. My comment is to fix the black tank, I prefer it. I love the girder forks too.

Welcome to the forum!

Haha yeah, Swedes has allways been into long bikes! My first one thought, I have mostly been fiddling with bobbers and stockers earlier but I just love riding this chopper..

Havent decided yet on tanks but gonna fix the black one anyways

How do you access the oil cap with those pipes? And I liked the spider webs.

I dont... Kinda sucks, need to look into that!

love the bike!lots of potentiol. reminds me of my 69 bonney cept mine had a long springer.

Thanks! Well Im gonna build something around that Triumph engine this winter, between fixing my dailydriver car, getting the XS exactly how I want it and getting a -53 Studebaker roadworthy after 40 years of sleep.. And getting my pickup MOT´d.. And finish painting my girlfriends bike. You know how it is ;)

Found a pic and clip someone snapped of my bike at the show.. No Im not trying to be gangsta but its getting really cold in Sweden so you got to cover your face while riding!

Unconventional way of getting the bike into the shop

DSC_0227_zps21aaa593.jpg

Progress on the seat!! Kept it simple and made the backmounts out of roundstock

im jelous of the girder, always wanted one.they are so simple and effective. the seat base is also quite awesum.i like the way yur goin on this bike.long bikes are so rare here nowadays.they always draw a crowd.

Bike has just been standing still while waiting for the seat, but after work today I finally fixed the ugly forwards. Havent got the hardware to make my own forwards so I figured I would just mod the ones on it. Started by cutting out the roundstock, redrilling and reshaping the mounts

DSC_0265_zps50d2a5e8.jpg

The pedals were made out of 2 parts welded together and the angle for the shifter wasnt right after I moved them down so I had to slice it up and change it a bit

DSC_0266_zps6830daf7.jpg

Not quite happy with the shape of the mountingplates, maybe Ill take some more material out of them later but the shiftinglinkage is soooo much cleaner now

Not sure how to do with the brake yet since its wireoperated, thinking of doing some combo between a pushrod and a chromechain or something. Got some Ideas

DSC_0269_zps935c1bbd.jpg

Wanted them further in, down, and more tucked away, Im happy with the outcome
