Hey guys, I'm trying to get all the parts together to install a pamco 277 rephrase ignition kit. I initially tried ordering the full kit from mikes but it was sold out, so now I'm stuck piecing it together. On mikes site it says the advance rod needs 2 bushings, on the pamco installation guide it says 3, (2 on the inner end and one on the advance side.) Does any one know what I actually need? Do I need any bearings or seals, or is it just the bushings? It's for an 81 xs650 special.

Mikes has those in stock. They have me for about an extra 100 bucks at this point. The full kit comes up out of stock on the site but Ive been able to order all the seperate parts at their full price... interesting. Oh well, hopefully ill have it back on the road soon.

zuehl,

That's two bushings on the advance side and one on the PAMCO side.

I'm sorry that MikesXS was out of stock for the 277 kits. The missing part is the PAMCO, I will admit. Last year I sold just 25 277 Ignitions. So far this year, I have sold 50 and I'm building another 50. I think that the 277 rephase has finally come into it's own, and that's thanks to Hugh Owings up in Ashville, NC http://hughshandbuilt.blogspot.com/

I even put an order in to have my pristine '81/H re phased, but Hugh's too busy making cranks and cams!

I introduced a new rotor for the 277 rephase late last year that works with any of the several ways that the cam is rephased. Used to be you had to know which one you needed and order it up, but the new rotor works with all the rephase methods.
