Two weeks ago I installed a PAMCO unit and the bike has been running like a dream. Today I was changing out a blown out indicator bulb. I turned the ignition on for less than 30 seconds to test the new bulb (the new bulb worked) and I turned the ignition back off. At that same time I swear a heard a sound from where the Pamco lives. I started the bike up and it idled great so I turned it off. On my next ride (about 30 minutes later) the bike seemed to miss at higher rpms ??? It is my understanding that either the Pamco unit works or it doesn't. Is that correct? I have a 1975 XS650b. The pamco kit came with coils (not the high output ones)(it was the cheaper kit). Could I have done something to the coils? Thank you all for being so helpful.

I would start going thru the wiring and test each part. I'm really not sure if it would be the Pamco. Do you have a kill switch? A kill switch is what is needed to prevent coil damage. You can test everything without sending juice to the ignition.
