That's not unusual.
It is proabably a 1980-1983 engine which has TCI ignition not points
or someone stole Your stuff

Lol yea it's an 81. Ok so I'm good then. I was like wtf I know there's supposed to be something here... Or so I thought. I should've know better considering my 81 400 has tic as well. I just hear so much about points that it threw me off.

Order a Pamco ignition and you'll be all good.

Ha went to order it yesterday but Paypal has me all jacked up. I did order the other stuff I needed from mikes like the advance rod and hi-po coil. I'm gonna go with the new e advance set up. Also gonna order a pma cause mine as seem better days.

that black thing on the stator is the tci pickup
I seem to remember sayin the samething when I first opened the points cover

Yea I was kinda worried the inside of the motor would be just as bad, but when I pulled the rocker covers I was pleased to see it looked like a new motor. The bike only had 1900 miles on it.

Crud in the holes. I was surprised how easily all the bolts came out. My 400 was rediculious , I probably stripped half the bolt heads.
