Question about bearing change in my "80" XS

Hey guys. So I bought the All Balls conversion kit to change from ball bearings to the Timkin type. Changed races and everything went good. The question is about the lower (old) ball bearing race on the lower tree. Does this stay or go ? It seems like the new bearings fit up in the lower neck to high to remove this. Am I wrong ?

You're wrong, remove the old lower race from the steering stem. Leave the grease seal though. That's the only part you re-use from the original bearing set-up.
