Today at the shop spent some time on my sidecar fender.... try'n to get it in primer asap.
Then we pull'd a 77' XS out of the winter storage. Last fall the engine developed a " quirk quirk quirk " while running. Ran great... But.." quirk ".. ?. We got our endoscope .. took a peep inside the innards.. No "quirk ".... So we pull'd the ailing lump and hope'd by just remove'n the valve cover we'd find " quirk ". But, No.. the God of Speed didn't smile upon us.
We pull'd the cylinders... and found " quirk ". Right rod bearing. So we trip'd out to the storage shed.. found our last late model (447) crank.
Tomorrow... we'll spilt the cases...do a basic top end.. seals, gaskets..rings.
