Front cam guide replaced and will be shortly closing everything up. Rear tensioner looks to be in decent shape ( very shallow grooves and only small amount of lost plastic), but its got 28k on it.

Should I replace or let it ride? I'm sure this was/is a similar case for most: front guide trashed, rear looks to be okay. But what did you guys do?

I just replaced the front. I think that's what most of us do. The fronts are notorious for going bad, the rears not so much.

Thanks 5twins. Just didn't want to regret not replacing guide if it would not hold up until next rebuild, which hopefulIy is years and thousands of miles down the road.

Still dont understand why rear holds up better when it is providing tension to chain. but if most are letting it ride, i think I'll sleep alright at night with not replacing it.
