I dunno RG. . . . . it sure seems like you get in a lot of emergency's.
Maybe your best brake is a break?

At my last "emergency", a few years ago, a deer tried to T-bone me, and almost got me. I was most thankful for having disc brakes at the front and rear of my bike. I had both the front and rear wheels locked up, as I hit the deer's back legs, as it flew past.

I always wonder who was surprised the most, the deer or myself.The deer and I both survived, so all's well that ends well.

A break? I'm retired....................that is a break. I can't slow down my life much more than that

Hi guys,
after reading all the posts in this string I reckon that if one MUST ride with only a rear brake, the brake to have should be one of those giant rim mounted disks like on the front of a Buell.
With ABS.
